Ned Yost showed a true lack of decision-making skills throughout the season when it came to handling his team. Devoted fans will recall his many head-scratchers such as not knowing Bush's limits throughout the season, not knowing Turnbow's tendencies and splits, juggling lineups for no reason, and losing an important game at the end of the season because hitting Pujols was more important than the win. GM Doug Melvin said himself after the season that Ned needs to improve on his in-game decision making. -And he may very well improve this year. He certainly will have trouble getting any worse.
Capuano is most likely out for the '08 season due to injury. Many fans wish that had been the case in '07 as well. At one point during the season the Crew lost 16 straight games in which Cappy appeared. Why the team stuck with him as he shattered the team's record of 11 straight losses by a Starting pitcher is another reason why Ned Yost took the Goat award over Capuano.
